HERITAGE BROUGHT TO LIFE FOR EVERYONE -JOIN THE IRISH HERITAGE TRUST BOARD The Irish Heritage Trust CLG is a registered charity and is governed by a Board of passionate and talented voluntary directors/ charity trustees. The Board oversees the implementation of the Trusts strategy and mission with a strong commitment to governance, sustainability and innovation. As we enter a pivotal phase of growth and transformation, we are looking for new members to join our dynamic Board to help shape the future of Irelands heritage. Service is voluntary and typically includes attending 6 scheduled board meetings a year, active participation in strategic sub committees, as well as contributing your expertise to projects alongside our executive team. Who We Are and What We Do Established in 2006, The Irish Heritage Trust CLG (IHT) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to conserving, managing, and sustainably developing Irelands built, natural and cultural heritage. Our mission is to safeguard some of Irelands most treasured heritage sites while delivering innovative visitor experiences at these places, including Fota House & Gardens (Cork), Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens (Wexford), and Strokestown Park & The National Famine Museum (Roscommon). Our approach combines financial sustainability with creativity, ensuring these places remain vibrant and accessible for generations to come. As a long-term strategic heritage partner of choice for both private and public property owners, we continue to explore opportunities to expand the Trusts portfolio in the coming years. Current Projects and Partnerships In 2024, we began an ambitious multi-million refurbishment of 11 Parnell Square, Dublin 1 with our property partners. This transformative project, now nearing completion, will create a vibrant new home for heritage and poetry. We are also proud to collaborate with ESB to develop an immersive museum and heritage attraction at 12 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, in Dublins South Georgian Core, which will be cared for and developed by the Irish Heritage Trust. This project will showcase the evolution of science and technology in the home over the past 200 years. Through these efforts, we aim to foster enduring connections between people and these remarkable places and their collections. We have embarked on a series of exciting conservation, refurbishment, and development initiatives across our properties. If you are an experienced director or non-executive director with established networks and strategic experience in the areas listed below, are excited by what we do, and have a keen appreciation of the role of a director/charity trustee and charity governance, we would be very interested in talking further with you. Knowledge of the not-for-profit and/or heritage sectors is also helpful but not essential.
