Overview
Software Development Engineer – Simple Email Service (SES)
As a Software Development Engineer for Amazon SES, you will work on backend and customer-facing systems, contributing to the development and improvement of our email services. You will focus on building reliable and scalable solutions, collaborating with other engineers to solve complex technical challenges, and ensuring our services are highly available and scalable to meet the needs of our global customer base.
As a member of the SES engineering team, your work will allow you to collaborate with customers and other technology leaders at Amazon to translate strategic business needs into features and projects, with an opportunity to participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall direction of the service.
On-Call Responsibility
This position involves on-call responsibilities. We aim to avoid paging in the middle of the night or on weekends. When paged, we work together to resolve the root cause to prevent repeated paging on the same issue.
Basic Qualifications

Experience (non‑internship) in professional software development
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
