As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining an efficient and effective chemical product safety program to minimize hazard-related risks and prevent future liabilities.
This includes overseeing the end-to-end process for material initialization, HSE data management, classification, labeling, authoring safety data sheets (SDS), transport classification, and supporting related IT systems.
About the Role
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Managing daily activities in support of an efficient and effective chemical product safety process
* Overseeing SDS generation and distribution, material initialization, HSE data management, and excipient management
* Providing GHS/CLP classification and dangerous goods checks for materials
* Managing SDS inboxes and ensuring timely delivery of requests via project management principles
* Collaborating with team members to deliver SDS requests and supporting manufacturing sites with SDS-related activities
As a subject matter expert, you will provide process and technical expertise to relevant business units, functions, and sites to ensure compliance, facilitate business continuity, and protect the company's reputation across the value chain.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
* A Master's degree in chemistry, life sciences, or a related field
* Extensive experience in similar positions, preferably in HSE data management and SDS authoring, from the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
* Knowledge of SDS authoring regulations (e.g., EU CLP, US OSHA)
* Demonstrated classification skills under multiple criteria (UN Purple book, US OSHA, EU CLP)
* Demonstrated knowledge and certification in transportation regulations (IATA, IMDG)
* Excellent communication, team, and influencing skills
* Proficiency in oral and written English
