IT Manager
Job Summary:
This is a pivotal role focused on strategic IT leadership and transformation, not day-to-day technical support (which is managed by an external MSP). The successful candidate will work across departments — including Sales, Projects, Design, Finance, and Operations — to ensure that technology effectively enables and supports the company's growth trajectory.
The primary responsibility in the first 18 months will be to lead the selection and end-to-end implementation of a new company-wide ERP system, driving digital transformation, improving business processes, and enabling scalable operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
ERP Implementation & Digital Transformation
* Lead the full ERP implementation lifecycle — from requirements gathering and vendor selection through to deployment, integration, user training, and ongoing support.
* Define project timelines, resource plans, milestones, and manage progress to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
* Collaborate across departments to map and improve business processes within the ERP framework.
* Drive user adoption and change management to ensure smooth transition and sustained value from the ERP system.
* Identify other digital tools and platforms that can streamline operations and scale with business needs.
IT Strategy & Business Alignment
* Define and implement an IT roadmap that supports commercial, operational, and field-based teams.
* Align IT initiatives with business objectives, departmental priorities, and growth plans.
* Advise senior leadership on technology trends, risks, and innovation opportunities.
Vendor & MSP Management
* Manage the relationship with the Managed Service Provider (MSP), ensuring service levels are met and issues are escalated and resolved effectively.
* Oversee third-party software and technology vendors.
* Lead procurement and license management for hardware, software, and telecoms assets.
Infrastructure & Systems Oversight
* Ensure reliability and performance of core infrastructure — including network, cloud platforms, file storage, and mobile access.
* Oversee integration between the ERP and other business-critical systems
* Support mobile workforce enablement through secure and efficient connectivity.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
* Own and maintain IT security policies and promote cyber awareness throughout the business.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO (if applicable), and client-specific data-handling requirements.
* Oversee backup strategies, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery capabilities.

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
* ITIL, PRINCE2, or other relevant IT service/project management certifications
* Full clean driver's license and willingness to travel nationally/internationally as required

Experience, Skills & Knowledge
* Minimum 5 years in a senior IT role, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or a project-based environment
* Demonstrable experience managing full ERP implementation projects (vendor selection to go-live)
* Experience managing outsourced IT providers and vendor contracts
* Experience supporting hybrid or multi-site organisations
* Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, and remote access tools
* Proven ability to deliver IT and digital transformation projects on time and within budget
* Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection compliance
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of the business
* Strong decision-making and analytical capabilities
* Highly motivated and self-driven, with strong planning and organisational skills
