Creative engineering input, research, conducting trials, and challenging the norm form key aspects of this role. Day-to-day tasks include applying CAD design principles, close-form calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), and prototyping skills to realize various types of opto-mechanical systems that ensure optimal performance across diverse environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that opto-mechanical designs meet space-grade standards (e.g., MIL‑STD, ECSS) by producing and maintaining GD&T-controlled drawings,
procedures,
and Bills of Materials under formal configuration control.),
