Job Description
To ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, we are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer. This key role will involve working closely with our Engineering/Production department to improve product manufacturing and develop optimal moulding processes.
The successful candidate will provide technical support to ensure that current and future projects meet customer specifications and in-house standards. Key responsibilities include:
* Introduction of new products and standardisation of process specifications.
* Process optimisation using statistical techniques.
* Troubleshooting processing problems with Production Group leaders.
* Establishment of relationships with customers and suppliers for continuous improvement and business development.
* Resolution of customer-related issues in conjunction with the Quality department.
* Training of employees on new manufacturing processes and systems.
* Development of documentation in line with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485 requirements.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in plastics engineering or a related field, ideally with at least 4-5 years' experience in injection moulding. Key qualifications include:
* National Diploma in Plastics Engineering (or Degree in Engineering).
* Excellent knowledge of injection mould tooling and design.
* Good understanding of injection moulding (standard process and multi-component), processing, ancillary equipment, and automation systems.
* Prior experience in Medical, Packaging, or technological industries.
* Knowledge of real-time monitoring systems.
* Deep understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
* Knowledge of WCM, JIT, SMED, and Kaizen principles.
* Proficiency in computer systems; integrated manufacturing systems; word processing, and spreadsheets.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
