Automation Systems Technician
We are seeking a skilled Automation Systems Technician to work on cutting-edge automation systems in a highly regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform low voltage cable pulling, terminations and labelling, including red-lining drawings for updates.
* Carry out basic mechanical fitting tasks such as cutting, grinding and general assembly.
* Troubleshoot and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and PLC-controlled systems.
* Support in-house testing, programming adjustments and configuration of new automated systems.
* Collaborate with the design team on system redesigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Work in a highly regulated environment, maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
* Assist with installation, commissioning and validation of systems at client sites.
* Provide ongoing service support, maintenance and after-sales assistance to existing customers.
Requirements:
* A Level 6 or higher qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering (or a related discipline).
* Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working with automation systems, ideally within the medical device or similarly regulated industry.
* Proven ability in the assembly, maintenance and troubleshooting of automated systems involving electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components.
* Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
* Experience working with PLC-based control systems (Allen Bradley or Siemens) is a strong advantage.
* Experience with robotics, sensors and vision systems is a plus.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
* Willingness to travel to client sites, including occasional international travel.
