Description Health Care Assistant / Hospital Driver Purpose of the Position: The Healthcare Assistant / Hospital Driver is primarily responsible for providing transportation to and from the National Rehabilitation Hospital for non-emergency patients who require assistance and responsive care.
The role also involves assisting in the transportation of goods and services within the hospital campus, such as hospital records, and driving patient transport vehicles, including hospital ambulances, as appropriate.
The post holder will work in clinical units or areas as needed and may be required to undertake hospital driving duties, in accordance with the NRH Healthcare Assistant Job Description.
Education and Qualifications: Hold a QQI Level 5 qualification or a comparable relevant qualification of at least Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland (QQI), such as Health Care Assistant, Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech and Language Therapy Assistant. Manual handling and patient handling training certificate recognized by the NRH or the ability to attain one. Full Clean Driver's Licence. Experience working in a healthcare environment. Demonstrated experience working with patients in hospital or other healthcare settings. This is a permanent full-time vacancy.
The salary is aligned with the HSE Health Care Assistant Payscale.
