Job Title: Grade V - Procurement Officer Salary: €51,273 Location: Athlone Area Contract: 35 hours per week About the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Grade V Procurement Officer to support the organisation's purchasing and procurement functions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient and compliant procurement processes, contributing to the effective management of resources and value for money.
Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day purchasing activities in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Operate purchasing systems, including raising and tracking Purchase Order (PO) numbers.
Process invoices efficiently, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial controls.
Source and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure best value and quality.
Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to meet purchasing needs.
Assist in the preparation of procurement reports and analysis as required.
Support compliance with public procurement regulations and organisational guidelines.
Essential Requirements: Experience working with purchasing/procurement systems.
Strong knowledge of invoicing processes and PO management.
Proven ability to source and compare supplier quotes.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desirable: Previous experience in public sector procurement.
Familiarity with national procurement guidelines and frameworks.
Relevant procurement or finance-related qualification.
