Job Description
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. The programme will give the successful applicants the opportunity for practical work experience of 19.5 hours per weekly in conjunction with studying towards a QQI Major Award in their chosen career. The work experience and training will enable applicants to secure future employment opportunities. All training cost are funded 100% through the programme.
Duties & Responsibilities: To follow a maintenance and cleaning schedule set out by Parish Office. To collect litter, sweep all steps of Cathedral and keep weed free (manually). To maintain and keep tidy the Monk’s Garden, keep all kerbing weed free (manually), keep Blessed Mary & St Joseph statues and graves clean along with metal railings and posts. To clean and maintain toilet (this is only opened at masses times/funerals for Parishioners). This is not open at other times.
Duties at the Parish Centre: Setting up for classes, meetings and functions within the Parish Community Centre, Bishopsgate St, Mullingar. Assist with General Maintenance of Centre and surrounding grounds. Supervision/patrolling of premises and maintaining a security presence.
Person Specification: Experience of maintenance/gardening desirable, good organisational and time management skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to act on own initiative and a willingness to take instructions. Punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
