Position
ASL Airlines Ireland is recruiting for a Maintenance Control Engineer (MC Engineer). Based at our Head Office in Swords, Co. Dublin, you will report to the Maintenance Control Centre Manager and be responsible for providing technical expertise to oversee the technical defects and maintenance of our fleet of ATR 72‑500/600, Airbus A300, Airbus A330, and Boeing 737‑800NG Cargo aircraft. You will monitor aircraft technical defects, oversee maintenance and operational requirements, and maintain the highest levels of safety, compliance, fleet reliability, and maximum serviceability.
Key Accountabilities
Provide remote technical support to Line Engineers at various ASL line stations throughout Europe
Assist in the efficient rectification of aircraft defects
Recover and repair AOG aircraft, supporting all aspects of returning an aircraft to service
Communicate with flight crew to ascertain the nature of any technical defects reported
Liaise with the OCC Department in prioritizing flight operational requirements
Monitor aircraft Deferred Defects (DD) and Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL) defects to ensure timely rectification
Support project work as requested by the MCC Manager
Review Technical Delays & Cancellations to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions applied
Monitor AMOS Repeat Tracker for adverse trends and investigate repetitive defects
Qualifications
Hold an EASA Part 66 license (B1, B2 or B1/B2) with a type rating on B737 NG or a similar aircraft type
Have at least 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably on B737 NG or similar aircraft type
Preferably have experience in a Maintenance Control environment
Willingness to work shift patterns as required; office‑based position in Swords
Flexible approach to working in a fast‑changing environment
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Maintain competence through continued education and training in the area of responsibility (facilitated by the company)
Experience & Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Self‑motivated and able to work in a high‑pressure, dynamic environment
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
Excellent computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), particularly Excel
Knowledge of a recognised aircraft maintenance & engineering computer system such as AMOS, OASES, or TRAX
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU.
