Medforce Recruitment, in partnership with the HSE, is seeking a Staff Grade or Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join the Adult Rehabilitation Team at the Community Hospital of the Assumption (CHOA) in Co. Tipperary.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary rehabilitation service, providing evidence-based assessment and therapy to adults recovering from acute illness, neurological events, or complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapist:
Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of adults with communication and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders.
Work as part of a rehabilitation-focused multidisciplinary team that includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, dietitians, and medical staff.
Develop and implement individualised treatment and care plans to support communication and safe swallowing.
Contribute to care planning meetings, discharge planning, and goal-setting in collaboration with the wider team.
Provide training and education to patients, families, and staff on communication and swallowing management.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapist:
Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist (or in process).
Experience working with adult rehabilitation and dysphagia caseloads preferred.
Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
A commitment to person-centred, goal-oriented rehabilitation.
Full driving licence and access to own transport desirable.
