Theatre Nurse Endoscopy Role
As a Theatre Nurse Endoscopy, you will be an integral member of the nursing team in an operating theatre suite/endoscopy suite environment. Your key responsibilities will include providing evidence-based care to patients undergoing surgery and endoscopy procedures.
1. Develop and implement effective pre-operative and post-operative care plans for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
2. Assist consultant surgeons in all surgical procedures, ensuring high standards of nursing care and adherence to aseptic techniques.
3. Prepare equipment and instruments according to patient needs, maintaining up-to-date consultant preference cards as necessary.
Key aspects of your role will also include:
* Maintaining awareness of effective resource management within the department, participating in education and training of other staff members.
* Ensuring that patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality are respected at all times.
* Coordinating ward area management in the absence of a Charge Nurse Manager or designated leader, undertaking mentorship and buddy roles where requested.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Registration in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or eligibility for such registration.
* Basic Life Support Training certification.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in theatre nursing.
