Program Overview
ROSETTA is an innovative fellowship programme coordinated by the University of Galway and involves four other universities (University College Cork, University College Dublin, University of Limerick, Trinity College Dublin).
The programme is co-funded by LERO, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software, the Horizon Europe Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions programme and the University of Galway.
ROSETTA fellows will have access to a high-quality research environment and a training programme that examines the development, use and regulation of technology across all aspects of life – from children and people with disabilities to the workplace, healthcare, and social inclusion for older people.
The fellowship has a duration of two years and aims to explore the intersection of time and technology in our digital world.
Fellowships
The programme will recruit 19 fellowships (up to 9 on the 2nd call) for full-time, fixed-term Marie Sklodowska-Curie post-doctoral Fellows.
Each fellow will be hosted by an ROSETTA supervisor at the University of Galway or an implementing partner institution.
Research Area
We are seeking fellows interested in "the true impact of technology on our time."
Applicants from diverse disciplines – information systems, business, law, computer science, medicine, sociology, biomedical engineering, psychology, and others – are encouraged to apply.
Qualification – Essential Criteria
PhD degree (or successful completion of doctoral thesis before the call deadline).
Compliance with MSCA mobility rule – not residing or carrying out main activity in Ireland for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the deadline.
Working proficiency in English (or evidence of proficiency if English is not first language).

Salary & Benefits
Remuneration follows EC rules for Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND grants.
Level 1: €50,124 gross salary per annum (excluding family allowance) or €57,252 gross salary per annum (if family allowance conditions are met).
The gross salary includes a €6,480 annual mobility allowance fixed for 24 months.
Salary is subject to taxes and deductions.
A budget is allocated for research and travel costs.
Training & Career Development
Fellows will have access to training and development opportunities, including a secondment period.
Fellows can choose secondments in non-academic or academic sectors to complement their research and career plans.
Researchers are encouraged to engage with the Researcher Development Centre (RDC) upon employment.
