My client, a well-established independent financial services provider, is expanding its Hedge Fund Accounting team. With a highly experienced leadership group and a strong track record of growth, they operate an A-Z fund accounting model, meaning teams work across the full lifecycle rather than in a functionalised structure.
Notably, this role offers full ownership of funds and client relationships without the burden of formal people management, making it an excellent fit for technically strong professionals who enjoy autonomy and client interaction but prefer to remain hands‑on.
About the Role
As a Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of hedge fund clients, acting as both the technical lead and primary point of contact. You will oversee the end‑to‑end NAV process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and high‑quality delivery across all outputs.
While there is some natural oversight of junior team members as part of the workflow, this role does not involve direct line management, performance reviews, or formal people leadership responsibilities.
This is a genuinely hands‑on position, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with clients and maintaining full control over their funds from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Acting as the main relationship manager for a portfolio of hedge fund clients
Overseeing NAV production, including performance fee calculations, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Ensuring timely and accurate fund valuations, with proactive issue escalation

Supporting audits, fund launches, and ongoing process improvements
Assisting with new business initiatives, including onboarding and feasibility assessments
What You Won’t Be Doing
No direct reports or formal line management
No performance reviews or HR responsibilities
No heavy involvement in hiring or team administration
About You
You are an experienced Hedge Fund Accounting professional, operating at Manager level or a strong Assistant Manager ready to step up. You are technically strong, detail‑oriented, and enjoy owning your work and client relationships without the distraction of people management.
5+ years of hedge fund accounting experience
Strong technical knowledge of NAV calculations, performance fees, and fund structures
Confident in managing client relationships directly
A proactive, solutions‑driven mindset
Comfortable working in a hands‑on, ownership‑driven environment
