Job Description
We are recruiting an Operational Risk Officer for a 12 Month contract to join the Risk Team within AXA's Risk Management Function.

Reporting to the Senior Operational Risk Officer, this role involves continuously identifying and assessing operational risks to the business, monitoring how these risks are managed, and proactively addressing any unacceptable risk gaps by collaborating with management to develop appropriate action plans. Additionally, the role entails establishing and maintaining a robust Operational Risk Framework in line with AXA Group standards to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
The main responsibilities will involve:
* Provides proactive support to local management and Group in respect of building and maintaining a sound risk framework
* Assist in the delivery of the annual Group Operational Risk minimum requirements in relation to: Loss data collection, Risk identification, Risk assessment and quantification, Risk monitoring and reporting
* Control and supervise the loss data collection process
* Control and supervise the self- assessment of local risk registers
* Coordinate operational risk management activity with all functions across the business
* Quantify/model the operational risks and integrate them into the local Short Term Economic Capital (STEC) charge
* Assist in the production of reports for the Local Forum/Committee
* Participate in Operational work-streams as required
* Attend the quarterly management Risk Forum and deliver updates as required
* Contribute to a good working relationship with AXA Group
* Actively participate in projects as required.
* A minimum of 4 years' experience in an insurance business environment, ideally with some exposure to compliance/regulatory matters and knowledge of key processes, structures and controls within the Company
* Previous exposure to audit-related work is preferred.
* Operational Risk Qualification (Institute of Risk Management or equivalent).
* ACOI Diploma in Risk Management, Internal Audit & Compliance or ACOI Professional Certificate in Compliance.
* APA, CIP or MDI Insurance qualification is desirable.
Skills and Attributes:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
* Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven, with exceptional PC skills including spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
* Enthusiastic with a high level of energy and a flexible work attitude, capable of meeting strict deadlines.
* Strong knowledge of key processes, structures, and controls within the company.
* Previous experience in Risk, Compliance, Internal Controls, or Audit environments.
* Ability to foster a collaborative team environment and inspire confidence across all levels of the business.
* Excellent leadership, time management, organizational, and planning skills, with a keen attention to detail.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
