Associate Director – Process Engineering
A leading global biopharmaceutical organisation is establishing a state‑of‑the‑art biotech manufacturing facility in Limerick. This next‑generation site will utilise advanced automation, data analytics, and bioprocessing technologies to deliver excellence in product quality, safety, and efficiency.
We are seeking an accomplished Associate Director – Process Engineering to join the site’s leadership team. This is a high‑impact position offering the opportunity to build and lead a process engineering function, shape strategy, and contribute to one of Ireland’s most advanced biotech facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Process Engineering team, ensuring strong technical capability and compliance.
* Provide process engineering support for manufacturing operations and continuous improvement.
* Oversee local capital projects and support the delivery of site engineering goals.
* Drive engineering standards and promote first‑principles problem solving.
* Set and monitor performance metrics for safety, quality, and process reliability.
* Manage staff development, including recruitment, training, and succession planning.
* Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure reliable, efficient processes.
* Act as a member of the Engineering Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and decision‑making.
Qualifications & Experience
* Honours degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Bioprocess, or related discipline).
* 10+ years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector, including leadership roles.
* Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing environments and process systems.
* Proven ability to lead teams, solve complex problems, and drive technical excellence.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
