Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a high-performing distribution centre with up to 90 staff, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and sustainability. This includes managing and optimising a fleet of 60 fully electric HGVs, providing strong leadership and direction to a team of three operational managers, and overseeing logistics, routing, and distribution processes to ensure best-in-class service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day operations of a large-scale distribution centre, driving employee engagement, performance management, and professional development across the team.
* Manage and optimise a fleet of electric vehicles, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational regulations and best practices.
* Provide strategic leadership, setting goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Develop and implement effective logistics, routing, and distribution processes to enhance service delivery and reduce costs.
Requirements
* Proven experience in senior logistics or supply chain leadership roles, with a strong understanding of sustainable logistics and electric vehicle fleet management.
* Demonstrated ability to manage large teams, develop leaders, and drive organisational change.
* Exceptional communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with a comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced environment.
