Job Description
Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe workplace. This role provides technical leadership, conducts risk assessments, and drives continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
Ensure compliance with EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Lead EHS audits and inspections; recommend corrective actions.
Provide technical guidance and training to staff on EHS matters.
Analyze EHS data and trends; prepare reports for management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into operations and projects.
Support sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship.
Manage EHS documentation and maintain records.
Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
Assist in facility maintenance planning, upgrades, and renovations to ensure EHS compliance.
Coordinate with facilities teams on building systems (HVAC, fire safety, waste management, etc.) to optimize safety and efficiency.
Support facility inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions.

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in EHS engineering, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (OSHA & ISO 14001, etc.).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Skills & Competencies

Technical expertise in EHS risk assessment and mitigation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Well organized team player, with high attention to detail.
Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
Leadership in driving EHS culture and continuous improvement.
Proficiency in EHS management systems and reporting tools.
Training and mentoring capabilities.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Ability to work in office and industrial environments.
May require occasional travel to other sites in Cork and Dublin.
Ability to conduct site inspections and respond to emergencies.

Ability to multitask, maintain ahead-of-schedule work flow and effectively co -ordinate people and project/ tasks.
