Offer description

Attractive salary package

Based Tullamore, County Offaly

The Limerick Leader has an exciting opportunity for a Court Reporter, with proven experience in both the District and Circuit Courts. As our Court Reporter you'll provide accurate coverage from Offaly court rooms throughout the county for the established print titles Midland/Tullamore Tribune and the highly popular website

So, what do you need to get started?

A specialist in your field, you will have proven experience in court reporting and samples of your work to share with us.

You will be well versed in criminal law, civil law, and family law and have a comprehensive knowledge of general court procedures and the law. An understanding of the rules regarding media reporting of the courts and the restrictions that apply, such as the 'in camera' rule, is of course very important.

Accurate writing, note taking (shorthand preferable), attention to detail, proper preparation and maintaining focus during busy court hearings is crucial to success, as is the ability to communicate daily with gardai, solicitors and Courts Service personnel.

Proficient in producing digital and print content, you will be familiar with content management systems. However, if you bring a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a commitment to develop your skillset, full familiarisation and training will be provided. A driving licence and your own car will be a distinct advantage.

Part of Iconic Media Group – Ireland's biggest local digital and newspaper publisher – we're investing in our continuing growth. You'll be building up your skills and making a name for yourself in the award-winning newsroom of one of our top regional news franchises – The Midland/Tullamore Tribune.

Come and join this expanding media team at an exciting time for the entire publishing industry.

To apply, please email a covering letter, your CV and samples of your work to Brian Keyes,

Group Editorial Director.

These positions are funded by the Courts Reporting Scheme.
