Tipperary, IrelandJob type: Permanent / Full-timeSector and subsector: Engineering | GeneralSalary: Negotiable salaryJob Title: Manufacturing EngineerReporting to: Maintenance ManagerJob PurposeThe successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Maintenance and Engineering function, including external contractors, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of the manufacturing facilityResponsibilitiesProvide support for all operational and maintenance activities across the site, driving ongoing process improvementsCarry out maintenance activities in accordance with site SOPsRespond to equipment breakdowns and initiate corrective maintenance actions, ensuring appropriate follow-up work is completedAssist in the operation and maintenance of site utilities systemsActively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency gainsManage third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring services are delivered effectively under Facilities Services agreementsCoordinate contractor activities, including permits, method statements, risk assessments, and scheduling of site visitsPerform routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, and systems, maintaining accurate records within the CMMSComplete all maintenance-related documentation in line with site requirementsEnsure all company assets are maintained according to manufacturer specificationsDiagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including fire alarm and ATEX systemsOversee calibration activities and ensure compliance with audit and certification requirementsAdhere strictly to all site health and safety policiesEnsure all work meets quality standards, GMP requirements, and housekeeping expectationsQualificationsDemonstrated experience managing a maintenance or engineering functionA third-level qualification in engineering (process, mechanical, electrical, or a related discipline)Minimum of 3–4 years’ relevant experienceCore CompetenciesStrong leadership, problem-solving, planning, organisational, troubleshooting, and project management skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and deliver results through teamworkProficiency in IT systemsStrong written and spoken EnglishExperience in the food or dairy manufacturing industry is an advantageExperience with preventative maintenance systemsKnowledge of utilities systemsFamiliarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
