A 6 month position has arisen for a Senior in Hand Therapy. The role, which is open to both occupational therapy and physiotherapy applicants, will be focused on the coordination and delivery of local hand therapy services, mainly for acute musculoskeletal presentations. What Will You Do
* Complete triage for local caseload of had therapy referrals in Carrickmines to review and approve access based on clinical presentation, local access rules and local capacity
* Utilise a range of approaches including splint fabrication, client education/advice, manual techniques, therapeutic exercise and adjunctive therapies in line with best evidence/practice
* Deliver group and individual educational requirements to staff in line with clinical competencies and future needs
* Utilise the benefits of information technology to improve productivity, efficiencies and decision making
* Communicate and work in co-operation with other team members in providing an integrated quality service, taking the lead role as required
The Hand Therapist will manage their own case load of patients and be available for colleagues to review complex cases in conjunction with other members of the multidisciplinary team across Vhi H&W
Education & Experience
* Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU and the ISCP
or
* Hold an Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the Occupational Therapy Registration Board at CORU and the AOTI
* Have clinical experience in Hand Therapy or show recent evidence of interest in the area

* Experience of developing, applying and reviewing an evidence-based approach to decision making
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills
* Exceptional planning and time management with capacity to effectively prioritises tasks
* Ability to analyse and interpret data to measure success of health and wellness initiatives
