Job Description
At AECOM, we are currently recruiting for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Dublin office.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the structural design and delivery of multidisciplinary projects from concept through to completion.
Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with relevant Eurocodes, Irish building regulations, and industry standards.
Manage project teams, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project outcomes.
Act as a key point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and external partners.
Oversee the preparation and review of structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
Drive innovation and sustainable design practices across all project types.
Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Support business development activities, including bid preparation and client presentations.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
Sector Focus
Residential: High‑density housing, mixed‑use developments, and urban regeneration projects.
Healthcare: Hospitals, primary care centres, and specialist medical facilities requiring complex structural solutions.
Education: Schools, universities, and research facilities with a focus on flexible and sustainable design.
Infrastructure: Transport, utilities, and public realm projects supporting Ireland’s growing infrastructure needs.
Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:
Degree:
Honours Bachelor’s (Level 8) or preferably Master’s (Level 9) in Structural or Civil Engineering
Chartered Engineer (CEng)
Member of Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and/or Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE)
