Overview of role:
UPMC Waterford are recruiting a part-time Housekeeping Operative to provide a high standard of cleaning across the assigned areas, ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for all staff, Patients & Visitors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
* Clean and maintain designated areas including offices, Corridors, Stairwells, Staff Rooms,
* Clean toilets areas and replenish supplies
* Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with site procedures.
* Refill cleaning materials and report any low stock to the supervisor.
* Use cleaning machinery (e.g., floor buffer, vacuum cleaner) as required and trained supplied.
* Follow health and safety policies.
* Report maintenance issues or hazards to the relevant facilities dept.
* Ensure all cleaning is carried out to the required standards and completed within the allotted timeframe.
* Be Aware of cross-contamination to ensure your Trolley & Equipment are used in allocated area only and not in any other section of the hospital.
* Follow Colour Coding Policy strictly as it is detailed in the Cleaning S.O.Ps
* Undertake training in all areas as required under the Clinic Training Policy
* Report any concerns regarding Health & Safety to the Health & Safety Representative or your supervisor.

* Always maintain a professional and friendly approach to other work colleagues.
* Flexibility in working hours to ensure cover is provided during holidays and periods of sick leave.
* Always work as part of a team to ensure UPMC Values
Qualifications & Experience:
* Previous work experience is desirable
* Have knowledge of the relevant disciplines in the Hospital pertaining to Infection Control, Quality and Risk Management, Health & Safety.
* Demonstrate excellent listening and verbal communication skills
* Display effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with other disciplines
* Able to work under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines
* Willingness to adapt positively to change
* Self-disciplined and ability to manage own time, to respond to changing priorities and workload to achieve targets.
* A strong commitment to high quality customer service and commitment to continuous improvement
