Site Assistant
Where: Nationwide (immediate starts in Limerick, Cork, Galway and Dublin)
Role: Involves a variety of archaeological activities, including working with artefacts and environmental samples, contributing to site records and archives, and supporting the preparation of archaeological reports
Main Duties:
• Taking part in excavation and recording of archaeological features in line with AMS standards and guidelines
• Accurately completing site records and data entry
• Working safely at all times and supporting a strong health and safety culture on site
• Communicating openly with the Supervisor and Site Director
• Helping to maintain site areas and care for equipment
• Being a positive and supportive team member and contributing to good morale on site
• Representing AMS professionally in all interactions with team members, clients, and the public
• Assisting with artefact and environmental processing when required
Qualifications and Experience:
• Relevant archaeology degree or equivalent
About You:
• A genuine interest in archaeology and heritage
• An understanding of archaeological fieldwork processes, or a strong willingness to learn
• Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable using computers, with basic skills in MS Word and Excel
• Reliable, well organised, and able to manage your time effectively
