Senior Technical Lead: Engineering Projects
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to lead high-impact residential projects, driving technical excellence and ensuring timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage Health and Safety on-site, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
* Review and comment on design drawings, raising RFIs as needed.
* Participate in Design Team Meetings, resolving outstanding design issues.
* Communicate approved technical submittals to relevant site teams.
* Understand and report on the delivery programme, intervening to avoid delays.
* Coordinate subcontractors and service providers for testing and commissioning.
* Monitor quality control of subcontractor work and supplier deliveries.
* Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, design specifications, and applicable standards.
* Conduct site inspections, recording and resolving issues promptly.
* Promote internal quality management systems across the team.
* Lead on technical submittals, benchmarks, and inspection processes.
* Maintain digital management systems and BCAR compliance.
* Oversight of benchmarking processes and scaffold inspections as required.
* Manage site drawings and maintain accurate site records and QA documentation.
* Oversight of specific work packages, including tender input, scope understanding, subcontractor programme monitoring, material ordering, and trade coordination.
* Build strong relationships with subcontractors for timely delivery.
* Implement Temporary Works Management.
* Manage third-party stakeholders such as utility providers and local authorities.
* Drive value engineering by challenging design and identifying efficiencies.
* Support early stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
* Lead and mentor the engineering team, including development planning.
* Chair site and construction team meetings.
* Promote a best-in-class customer experience and uphold client brand values.
Candidate Profile:
* Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in a similar role.
* Degree qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
* Ability to meet demanding time and quality targets.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Detail-oriented, methodical, and accurate.
* Collaborative team player with leadership capabilities.
* Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities.
* Will to take ownership and responsibility.
