Principal/Senior Railway Permanent Way EngineersRoughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit talented principal/senior railway permanent way engineers for permanent positions in our expanding railways team.Job type: PermanentLocation: Dublin, Cork or Leeds Salary: CompetitiveBackgroundAs a member of our railways team, you will work across a range of projects, including light rail, heavy rail and railway asset management. Our clients include Iarnród Éireann, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, local authorities and leading contractors in the implementation of railway schemes. Current and recent projects include: George's Dock Bridge Waterford City Public Infrastructure ProjectDART+ WestCork Area Commuter Rail (CACR) Programme Essential requirementsAn honours degree in railway or civil/structural engineering (Minimum Level 9 qualification in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent) Principal Railway Permanent Way Engineers require 10+ years' post qualification experience in design and implementationSenior Railway Permanent Way Engineers require 5 to 10 years' post qualification experience in design and implementationProficiency in track alignment design and associated software/technologiesDetailed knowledge of vignole and trough rail technologyDetailed knowledge of permanent way design in street and ballasted track, including permanent way elements, earthworks and drainageWorking knowledge of Irish and UK design standards in the field of railway designStrong design skillsExcellent attention to detail and quality design outputsExcellent analysis skillsExperience of track inspection and assessmentExcellent numerical and analytical skillsProven project management skills and experienceComfortable working in a busy environment with tight deadlinesFlexible, motivated and focusedChartered Engineer or working towards chartered status with a recognised professional bodyFluency/high level of proficiency in spoken and written EnglishAbout Roughan and O'Donovan (ROD)Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is a leading civil, environmental and structural engineering consultancy.
