Food Manufacturing | Senior Site Leadership Role
A leading and well-established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at a large-scale, highly automated production site.
This is a senior leadership opportunity with responsibility for engineering operations, maintenance strategy, utilities management, capital projects, reliability improvement and engineering team development. Reporting directly to the Site General Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational performance, asset reliability, safety and continuous improvement across the plant.
The role offers the opportunity to lead a well-established engineering structure, including multiple direct reports and a wider team of engineers and technicians, within a business investing heavily in operational excellence, sustainability and long-term site performance.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the site engineering function across maintenance, reliability, utilities and capital projects
Develop and implement preventative, predictive and reliability-centred maintenance strategies
Drive improvements in equipment uptime, OEE and overall plant performance
Oversee site utilities including steam, refrigeration, compressed air, HVAC, water treatment and associated infrastructure
Lead root cause analysis and resolution of recurring engineering and operational issues
Manage engineering budgets, CapEx planning and cost control initiatives
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality and regulatory standards
Lead and develop engineering managers, engineers and technicians across the site
Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering function
Work closely with Operations, Quality, EHS and senior leadership teams to support site objectives

Candidate Requirements

Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Automation or related Engineering discipline
Significant experience in a senior engineering leadership role within manufacturing, food processing, FMCG or other highly automated production environments
Proven experience managing maintenance, reliability and engineering functions at site level
Strong understanding of utilities management and critical plant infrastructure
Experience delivering engineering and capital projects safely and within budget
Strong leadership and people management capability
Experience driving OEE, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
Knowledge of CMMS systems and engineering performance management
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
