Job Title
We are seeking an experienced Toolroom Supervisor to join our team in the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of injection mould tools, jigs, fixtures, and automation components.
This role involves overseeing daily activities, managing preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs, and new tooling projects. The successful candidate will also be responsible for operating and supervising work using CNC machines and manual machinery.
The ideal candidate will have a proven background in toolmaking, strong CNC and manual machining skills, and experience with hot and cold runner systems and precision assemblies.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day toolroom activities including preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs, and new tooling projects.
* Operate and supervise work using CNC machines (EDM, Wire Eroder, CNC mill/lathe) and manual machinery (grinders, lathes, drills, welders).
* Ensure tooling is production-ready and meets required quality standards.
* Provide strong technical support to production and engineering departments.
* Mentor apprentices and junior team members, promoting skills development.
* Maintain tooling records and participate in project launches and trials.
Requirements
* Technical Skills:
* Proven background in toolmaking, ideally within an injection moulding environment.
* Strong CNC and manual machining skills.
* Experience with hot and cold runner systems and precision assemblies.
* Familiarity with heat treatment and tooling finishing processes.
* Leadership Qualities:
* Experience leading a team or stepping up in a senior toolroom capacity.
* Confident decision-maker with the ability to work under pressure.
