We are recruiting a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join a Children's Disability Network Team in Tallaght, South Dublin. This is a full-time agency contract role, with a high likelihood of extension into a permanent position, offering career stability and opportunities for growth.
Role Summary
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will take a lead role in providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with complex needs and disabilities. You will work collaboratively with families, schools, and a multidisciplinary team, while also supporting the development and supervision of junior colleagues within the service.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Providing specialist assessment and intervention for children with communication, speech, language, and/or swallowing difficulties.
* Designing and implementing individualised therapy programmes in collaboration with families and caregivers.
* Acting as a key member of a multidisciplinary disability team (including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and others), ensuring holistic child-centred care.
* Offering guidance, support, and training to families, schools, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
* Contributing to interdisciplinary planning and providing input into Individual Family Support Plans (IFSPs).
* Liaising with schools, preschools, and community services to promote coordinated service delivery.
* Maintaining accurate, confidential clinical records and adhering to professional and organisational standards.
* Supporting the clinical supervision, mentoring, and development of junior Speech and Language Therapists and students.
* Participating in service planning, audits, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Engaging in ongoing continuing professional development (CPD) and contributing to best practice within the service.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and current registration with CORU.
* A minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least two years in paediatrics or disability services.
* Proven ability to manage a complex paediatric caseload.
* Strong leadership, mentoring, and supervisory skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
