Overview
Cpl Healthcare is delighted to have partnered with Tusla Child and Family Agency to recruit for a number of Special Care Workers within their special care services, due to continued expansion in Dublin West (Lucan) and North (Portrane) with the aim of increasing support to vulnerable young people in need of this service.
These vacancies exist in their special care units for children in care aged between 11 and 17 years, providing for a short-term, stabilising intervention that prioritises safe care in a secure, therapeutic environment.
While this is a challenging role, it is an extremely rewarding position in the social care sector. We welcome applications from new graduates to experienced professionals.
As part of your role you will participate in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans, while promoting the rights of each young person within the centre as well as promoting the physical, emotional, social and educational welfare of each young person.
Successful Candidates must have:

Qualifications
Minimum QQI Level 7 in Social Care or a related qualification
Or hold one of the following with eligibility to register with CORU (minimum 2 years experience required in the previous 5 years as of November 2025):
* Youth and Community Work qualification
* BA (Hons) Youth and Community Development
* BA (Hons) Counselling and Addiction Studies
* Disability Diploma (Primary Care)
* Degree in Social Science (minimum Level 7)
* Social Care Qualification (Level 6)
Salary and recruitment
Tusla has delegated sanction to recruit up to point 5 of the salary scale where prior years of relevant study and/or relevant experience are considered.
