BnM currently has an opening for a Production Manager on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Edenderry and will report to the Thermal Plant Manager. The role will be responsible for managing the Operations function of Edenderry/Cushaling generation assets in accordance with owner and customer needs, ensuring environmental and health and safety compliance while maximising plant performance.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
1. Management of Renewable Energy portfolio of generating assets to achieve and maximise plant availability and efficiency while meeting BnM’s and government renewable targets;
2. Manage and lead the operations of the power plant, ensuring alignment with the Maintenance teams and according to the customer’s instructions, ensuring targets are achieved, and works are carried out safely, economically, and within environmental and design limits. When required, carry out the role of Windfarms Operational Controller. This includes operations planning, reporting, materials logistics, and management;
3. Ensure material management, purchasing, and contract management meet company standards and support operations within the budget. Liaise with compliance and trading functions to ensure the assets' most financially beneficial position while maintaining compliance;
4. Participate in implementing the Renewable Energy Business Management System, coordinating interfaces with customers, partners, regulatory authorities, and accreditation bodies. Responsible for meeting commercial, safety, environmental, and quality targets;
5. Participate proactively as a member of the operations management team. Develop and implement a resource plan for the operations team extending to 2030 and beyond. Develop succession and people development plans. Lead engagement planning for the operations function, ensuring action plans are developed and implemented;
6. Ensure all employees cooperate fully with provisions for health, safety, and welfare of co-workers and the public;
7. Lead and performance manage direct reports. Participate in performance management processes to ensure objectives are met.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge, and attributes:
* BSc in Engineering or equivalent in a related technical discipline;
* 10+ years of experience in a similar role;
* Experience with Steam Boilers and Steam Turbine plants.
