Job Title: Health and Safety Officer Location: Multi-Site - Cork Industry: Construction Experience Essential Experience Required: 2+ Years We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Officer to oversee and manage health, safety, and environmental compliance across multiple construction sites. The role involves conducting regular audits, liaising closely with site managers, and ensuring that operations maintain the highest safety standards Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments across active sites. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and legislative regulations. Develop and implement site-specific Health & Safety plans and Safe Systems of Work. Monitor and report on-site safety performance and provide detailed audit reports to management. Work closely with site managers and supervisors to address safety issues and implement corrective actions. Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, inductions, and ongoing health and safety training to site personnel. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations. Maintain up-to-date records of all incidents, inspections, and audits. Keep abreast of changes in legislation and ensure that all sites comply accordingly. Provide expert advice to project teams during planning, design, and delivery stages to integrate safety considerations. Promote a strong safety culture across the company and among subcontractors. Liaise with external bodies such as HSE, clients, and other regulatory agencies as required. Assist in developing company-wide safety policies and procedures. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience in a Health and Safety role within the construction industry NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) essential. IOSH membership (TechIOSH or higher) desirable. Strong knowledge of Irish & Safety legislation and industry best practices. Experience conducting audits and implementing corrective actions. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with site managers, project teams, subcontractors, and clients. Ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage a demanding schedule. Excellent organisational and reporting skills. Full Irish Driving Licence IT literate competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
