Assistant Branch Manager

Our client is a well-established builders providers serving the construction and DIY sectors across Munster for over 90 years. They pride themselves on offering a comprehensive range of high-quality building materials, home improvement products, and expert advice to both trade professionals and homeowners.
They are now seeking an experienced, sales-driven, and high motivated Assistant Branch Manager to support the day-to-day operations of their busy branch in Charleville.
Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will help ensure operational excellence, outstanding service delivery, and continued commercial growth.
The Role:
·Reporting to the Branch Manager & Senior Management key responsibilities include:
·Support a high-performing branch operation, overseeing sales, customer service, stock control, opening/closing procedures, and logistics
·Lead, motivate, and train staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences and uphold company standards
·Assist with inventory control, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
·Drive sales performance through proactive customer engagement and business development initiatives
·Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and internal policies
·Deputise for the Branch Manager as required, maintaining operational continuity
·Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
·Lead the trade counter team to maximise sales opportunities within the branch
Skills & Experience that we need:
·Proven supervisory or management experience within builders' providers, construction supply, or a related industry
·Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organisational abilities
·Strong product knowledge of building materials and related trades
·Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to exceptional service
·Strong commercial awareness and proven sales experience
·Competency in Microsoft Office and relevant POS/inventory systems
·Full, clean driving licence
The Offer:
This onsite role is offered on a permanent basis with excellent salary per annum, depending on the candidate's experience, plus bonus and excellent benefits package.
Hours of work: 8.00am-5.30pm with the availability to work on some Saturdays required.
