GalwayHours: Evening Shift 2pm – 10pm can be flexibleReports To: Maintenance ManagerJob PurposeTo carry out safe, effective maintenance, repair, and replacement of factory equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The role focuses on maximising plant efficiency while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesThe following outlines typical duties and is not exhaustive. The role requires flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs.Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on plant equipment and site infrastructure.Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and implement improvements to minimise downtime.Analyse business and operational needs, contributing ideas for improved processes and efficiencies.Assess materials, conduct trials, and evaluate finished products against specifications.Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to support operational goals.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reduction.Ensure plant processes operate within defined capabilities and specifications.Contribute to and support key projects, ensuring sustainability and successful implementation.Assist in developing and maintaining manufacturing and process documentation.Participate in design, specification, and verification of plant and equipment upgrades.Monitor equipment performance and provide feedback for ongoing improvements.Liaise regularly with planning and maintenance teams to optimise maintenance scheduling.Ensure all maintenance work is completed to required standards and within agreed timelines.Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all procedures and documentation requirements.Adhere to all health & safety legislation, company policies, and best practices.Assess the impact of changes and support implementation using appropriate change management approaches.Monitor and control maintenance-related costs, including parts, stock, and contracted services.Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all business and personal information.Promote and maintain a safe working environment at all times.Skills & ExperienceProven experience in a maintenance or similar technical role.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Experience with plant equipment, systems, and maintenance practices.Personal AttributesThe ideal candidate will:Be self‑motivated and proactive.Have strong organisational and planning skills.Be capable of prioritising workloads effectively.Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Think logically and make sound decisions quickly.Maintain a professional and responsible approach at all times.Additional RequirementsFlexibility to work varied hours and respond to call‑outs as required.Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
