Electrical Estimator Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with strong potential for career advancement.
As an Electrical Estimator, you will oversee the tendering process for medium to large-scale projects across Substations and Renewables sectors. You will establish and maintain effective communication and negotiation with external vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth project engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the tendering process for medium to large-scale projects (132-400kV) across Substations and Renewables sectors.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication and negotiation with external vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth project engagement.
- Building and sustaining strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and industry partners to facilitate seamless collaboration throughout the tender process.
- Performing detailed cost analyses, comparing tender costs with construction expenses to deliver accurate and reliable estimates.
- Mentoring and guiding junior team members, fostering their professional development and encouraging teamwork.
- Identifying and reporting project value changes or potential issues that could impact project delivery or financial outcomes to clients and senior management.
- Preparing comprehensive reports on tendering activities, including updates on progress, budget assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Collaborating with business development teams and colleagues to optimize the tender submission and upload processes.
- Managing time efficiently to meet tight deadlines, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will hold an electrical trade qualification or relevant tertiary degree in electrical engineering, possess at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel or equivalent tools for cost analysis and data management. They will also demonstrate strong leadership skills, promoting teamwork and effective communication within the estimating team, and exhibit a proactive, goal-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks.
