The PEM Europe Applications Engineering Department is responsible for the design, development and commercialization of innovative fastening solutions for European and global markets.
These solutions often require dedicated project design and development across many manufacturing functions and departments.
This full-time position within our Applications Engineering Team requires a self-motivated individual that is capable of managing the plans that will meet project objectives while adhering to an agreed budget and timeline.
His role involves overseeing all projects from to finish.
The Project engineer duties will include defining the project scope, accessing the necessary resources to complete it, anticipating time and financial requirements, communicating to all stakeholders and controlling project documentation.
Essential Functions
Cross reference project and customer requirements against PEM manufacturing capabilities.
Generate project development, manufacturing, testing and validation costs related to a project.
Setup and review project feasibility with senior management cross-functional team for project Go/No-Go review.
Coordinate feedback to customer of PEM design proposal and feasibility review.
Coordinate the project design and development activities within the business including Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Sales & Marketing, Finance and Installation equipment dept.
Support sales activity for with technical calls and possible customer visits related to a project as and when required.
Coordinate testing required for prototypes, pilot production and final customer acceptance.
Coordinate project validation review, signoff, project closure and handover of project to manufacturing with cross-functional team.
Continually monitor project progress against budget and schedule to ensure development is within budget and key milestones and timelines are met.
Continually monitor project development for possible areas of improvement.
Other Duties
Communicate with all business levels of support functions including management.
Undertake research to support the learning of new processes, products and technologies.
Travel and promote PEMs Application Engineering and product/project development offering, including new product releases to external customers.

Requirements
Third level degree in Project Management or equivalent.
1-3 years project management experience.
Project management skills with proven track record solving problems and working in or with a cross-functional team.
Proficient with project management software such as Microsoft Project.
Experience with engineering tools such as SPC.
Experience using Business software (ERP systems, JDE preferred).
Solid Modelling software (Pro/E Creo preferred) and Finite Element Analysis, desirable.
Must be able to use laboratory testing tools as required (e.g. hand tools, tensile tester, hardness test equipment).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interpret and communicate data accurately.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
Flexibility in schedule to allow for travel.
