The Role
As a
Microbiology Analyst
at CLS, you will play a key role in supporting GMP manufacturing environments through robust environmental monitoring programmes.
Working within the microbiology team and under the direction of the Microbiology Lab Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for the execution, documentation, and reporting of EM activities in line with GMP and ISO ***** requirements.
This is a hands-on role suited to individuals with a strong interest in contamination control and GMP compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine environmental monitoring activities, including viable and non-viable monitoring of cleanrooms and controlled environments.
Carry out surface, air, personnel, and water sampling in accordance with approved procedures.
Perform incubation, reading, and interpretation of EM samples.
Log, track, and manage EM samples using the LIMS system.
Accurately enter results into LIMS and support timely reporting to customers.
Trend EM data and support the identification of adverse trends.
Maintain EM documentation in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Support investigations into EM excursions, out-of-specification results, and non-conformances.
Assist in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the laboratory Quality System.
Participate in stock control, media preparation support, and document updates as required.
Engage professionally with customers during on-site sampling or audits when needed.
Support validation and qualification activities related to environmental monitoring.
Contribute to Lean Laboratory and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who You Are
You are a QC Microbiology Analyst with a strong interest or background in environmental monitoring.
You are detail-oriented, well organised, and comfortable working in GMP-regulated environments.
You value data integrity, teamwork, and consistent high standards, and are motivated to develop your expertise in contamination control.
Where You Come From
A third-level qualification in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline.
A minimum of 1 year experience in a microbiology or GMP laboratory environment, ideally with EM exposure.
Familiarity with GMP, cleanroom practices, and regulatory requirements (FDA / EU GMP), or a strong desire to build expertise in this area.
A proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and compliance.
