Please only submit your application if you have Fetac Level 5 in Health Care, 2 years' experience as a Health Care Assistant, and full legal entitlement to work in Ireland. Applications will be rejected if these three criteria are not met.
This is a template of the main duties for a HCA in our dialysis clinic. There may be some additional duties, but this list provides an indicative overview:
* Launder and iron uniforms
* Line machines am/pm
* Restock trolleys in clinical areas
* Assist nurses to connect/disconnect patients to/from the Dialysis Machine – full training will be provided
* Recycle clean carts
* Prepare patient teas pm/pm and clean up kitchen – HACCUP training provided
* Empty and refill dishwasher
* Prepare equipment trays morning/afternoon
* Take stock, order supplies, and input figures – training provided
* Care of blankets and preparation of couch covers
* Wash/disinfect station areas, beds, chairs, HD machines, and bed tables
* Empty clinical waste bins, sharps bins, recycling, and domestic waste
* Empty laundry bags
* Help disconnect patients from machines
* Assist in transferring patients from dialysis chairs/beds/hoists – training provided
* Weigh patients pre- and post-dialysis
* Assist patients to/from the main reception
* Change bins (yellow bins, yellow bags, sharps bins)
* Move machines as necessary
* Check citric disinfection levels on machines daily
* Clean clamps and patient boxes
* Address machine leaks and spillages
* Sign for deliveries and restock storeroom
