Job Title: Mechanical & Process QA LeadLocation: Swords, County DublinDuration: TBCSalary: DOEMechanical QAQC LeadThe Mechanical & Process QA/QC Engineer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all mechanical and process quality requirements on piping installation projects. This role involves close coordination with construction teams, welding crews, and third‑party inspectors to ensure that all work is executed in accordance with project specifications, codes, and client requirements. The QA/QC Engineer will manage documentation, verification of inspection records, and final turnover packages to ensure smooth project closeout.Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Welding & DocumentationGather, verify, and maintain accurate weld logs from site crews on a daily/weekly basisTransfer weld logs into Eida or other project database systems accurately and in a timely mannerCross‑check weld numbers, welders' details, and joint traceability against project weld maps and drawingsDrawing ControlManage and update redline/as‑built drawings, ensuring all field changes are captured accuratelyCoordinate with engineering teams to issue final as‑built revisions in line with project handover requirementsNDT & Inspection CoordinationGather Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) reports (RT, PT, MT, UT, etc.) from third‑party inspectorsReview and verify NDT reports for completeness and compliance with project codes and specificationsHighlight and follow up on any non‑conformances (NCRs) or repair welds requiredTest Pack Compilation & HandoverBuild and maintain Test Packs (hydrotest, pneumatic test, cleaning packs, etc.) in line with project requirementsEnsure all inspection records, weld logs, NDT reports, and punch lists are included in the Test PackSupport field teams in test execution, ensuring correct documentation of test results and sign‑offsTrack and report progress of Test Pack status (open, in progress, closed) to the QA/QC ManagerGeneral QA/QC DutiesImplement and monitor project quality procedures in accordance with company Quality Management System (QMS)Participate in internal and external audits as requiredLiaise with client QA/QC representatives to address comments, close out issues, and submit final handover dossiersEnsure all documentation is filed, maintained, and accessible for project close‑out and future traceabilityRequirementsDegree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline3+ years' experience in mechanical piping installation or process plant QA/QCStrong knowledge of welding processes, codes (ASME, EN, etc.), and NDT methodsExperience with Eida or similar project management/document control systems (preferred)Familiarity with hydrostatic and pneumatic test procedures and Test Pack compilationAbility to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and shop drawingsExcellent attention to detail and strong organizational skillsKey SkillsProficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and database systemsClear communication and reporting skillsProactive problem solving and ability to work under pressure in a construction environmentStrong teamwork and interface skills with site supervisors, welders, inspectors, and client teams
