Job Overview
The Theatre Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of nursing and support colleagues in the provision of patient-centered care. The role requires management of resources, coordination of activities, and fostering good working relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities
* To implement quality management programs in consultation with CNMs, Consultants, and other disciplines.
* Play a key role in developing services within the theatre and endoscopy department.
* Develop high professional standards to foster good working relationships between colleagues and other staff.
* Work within allocated resources by planning, monitoring, and evaluating available resources rigorously.
* Be an effective member of the multidisciplinary team promoting teamwork and excellent patient care.
* Manage communication at departmental level and facilitate team building.
* Provide leadership and motivation that promotes good working relations and work performance.
* Manage all resources efficiently and effectively.
* Lead and implement change as required.
* Develop evidence-based policies and procedures to support best practice.
* Ensure the staff development and induction program is in place for trained and untrained staff including students in the clinical area.
* Identify opportunities for staff professional development in line with service requirements.
* Lead on compliance with relevant accreditation standards and identify opportunities for quality improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
* Hold a current registration as a general nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Have 3 to 5 years' experience in a leadership role within a theatre environment. Previous experience within a private healthcare setting would be advantageous.
* Hold a qualification in Peri-operative Nursing.
* Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to influence others.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience of quality audit/assurance systems.
* Experience with clinical and professional practice development.
* Have experience in change management.
* Possess excellent communication skills.
* Evidence of participation in an accreditation process would be desirable.
