Driving and leading the implementation of Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) and executing supplier transfers across Solventum (Procurement, Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and the External Supplier Base) to achieve measurable and increasing net cost reductions for existing products and materials.
Partnering with suppliers to evaluate alternative materials, components, and manufacturing processes that offer cost savings without compromising product quality or performance, including conducting supplier audits alongside supplier quality and procurement.
Driving significant supplier base reduction and consolidation by managing the change management process of moving materials from non‑strategic to strategic suppliers while improving costs. Ensuring complete validation and qualification by working closely with quality, manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
Recommending and deploying dual/multi‑source supply strategies to ensure continuity of supply for key products, managing the change management process throughout implementation, and ensuring full validation and qualification through collaboration with quality, manufacturing, and cross‑functional teams.
Leveraging strong project and change management skills to driving continuous improvements within the categories and introducing innovative strategies to support supplier excellence.
Driving continuous improvement efforts by implementing lean methodologies and process optimizations to achieve cost‑reduction targets.
Qualifications
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Material Science, Chemistry, or Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
Eight (8) years of Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Masters degree Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
Demonstrated experience working in Design Engineering and R&D
Experience implementing significant improvements or establishing procurement industry best practices across functional areas.
Strong track record of driving operational improvements (e.g. cost savings) to support the business strategy
Influential with the ability to articulate and drive teams toward a common goal
Familiarity with VAVE tools and processes
Familiarity with Solventum CMP process (Change Management Process)
Familiarity with supplier transfer processes
Familiarity with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Excellent Program Management skills
Excellent communication skills across various organizational levels
Excellent negotiation skills and proven success working under pressure while driving projects to closure.
Location & Work Arrangement
Primary Work location: Athlone, Ireland
Secondary Location: Loughborough, UK (may be considered)
Work Type: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require onsite work at one of the following locations)
Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
Legal Requirement: Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
