Job Overview
The position of Assistant Scientist is a key role in managing the Water Framework Directive objectives through River Basin Management Plans and Programmes of Measures. The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of the European Union Water Policy Regulations 2014, which placed new obligations on local authorities to co-ordinate catchment management and public participation elements.
Key Responsibilities
* To assist in the development and implementation of River Basin Management Plans and Programmes of Measures;
* To contribute to the co-ordination of catchment management and public participation elements;
* To work with local authorities to meet their objectives under the Water Framework Directive.
Requirements
* A degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as environmental science, ecology or biology;
* Experience in catchment assessment and water quality monitoring;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
