Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.
Job Description
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. The position is based in The Hut in Gurranabraher.
* Opening and closing the community centre at relevant times (shifts: 9am-1pm, 12pm-4pm, 2pm-6pm, 6pm-10pm on a rotating basis).
* Ensuring maximum security is maintained throughout the whole building.
* Maintenance and caretaking of all aspects of the building.
* Setting up rooms for meetings, activities, etc.
* Reporting maintenance requirements to building management (eg. leaking taps).
* Patrol floors every 40 minutes.
* Greet all guests/users (young children, teenagers, adults, elderly) in a friendly and professional manner.
* Inform people about organizations/programmes in the community centre.
* Make sure people sign into the visitor's book.
Cleaning Duties (daily)
* Replace and refill toilet rolls, hand towels and soap.
* Brush and mop floors (using the right mops).
* Clean stairs and hand rails.
* Clean glass throughout the building (doors & windows).
* Clean outside of building.
* Empty bins in all rooms.
The hours require someone who is flexible and can work one of 4 shifts which alternate (9am-1pm, 12pm-4pm, 2pm-6pm, 6pm-10pm). Whilst on the CE Programme, all CE Participants have the opportunity to avail of training and have one-on-one support and training available from their CE Supervisor.
