Job Summary
As a Production Manager, you will oversee the manufacturing process to ensure production targets are met safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage day-to-day production operations and motivate the team to achieve performance targets.
Main Responsibilities:
* Production Planning: Plan, organise, and control production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
* Operational Management: Manage workforce performance, machinery, and material flow to optimise production efficiency.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as output, efficiency, downtime, scrap, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
* Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards.
* Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate the production team to achieve performance targets.
* Collaboration: Work with supply chain, maintenance, and quality departments to ensure smooth workflow.
* Innovation: Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
* Financial Management: Manage budgets for labour, materials, and overhead costs.
* Reporting: Prepare reports for senior management on production performance and improvement plans.
* New Product Introduction: Support new product introductions, process changes, and implement improvements in mean-time-to-failure/product failure rate.
* Change Management: Communicate required changes to improve build and implement through the design team.
* Servicing: Plan service teams for installations, servicing, and breakdowns.
* Logistics: Manage and organise logistics.
