Job Opportunity

* Senior Manager: Lead and manage a team to drive commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

* Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement commercial strategies in conjunction with the director and head office. Oversee current commercial strategies, liaising with trade managers and internal sales teams.
* Team Management: Manage local trade managers, assisting and guiding them with management of wider commercial team. Develop commercial team to meet expectations of local management and head office. Review performance and statistic reports for director and head office.
* Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including existing customer portfolios alongside future key-account programs. Stay up to date with industry trends and market conditions, making recommendations for business development opportunities. Target new business accounts on all trades together with commercial teams and global agents overseas. Attend client site visits periodically promoting core services, added value services and consolidating customer relationships.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor and review performance and statistic reports for commercial director and head office.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Experience in developing commercial processes and systems.
* Global international experience within shipping industry, clients, and markets.
* Strong negotiator when engaging with existing and prospective clients at a senior level.
* Proven experience in managing and leading commercial teams.
* Ability to create business development plans to secure new business.
* Creative in developing, promoting, and delivering improvement strategies within commercial teams.
* Strong leadership and communication skills to guide, manage and motivate commercial teams.
* Geographical awareness.
* Excellent mathematical ability and understanding of currency fluctuations.
* First class organizational and communication skills.
* Report-writing and presentation skills, together with familiarity with popular software packages such as Microsoft Office.
* Motivation to use initiative and innovate when required.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.
