Work schedule: 7.5 hours per week with the option to work up to 15 hours weekly.
Job Summary
As a Sales Assistant with one of Ireland’s leading charity retailers, you will welcome customers, provide excellent service, and help achieve in‑store sales targets. Your role supports the retail operation’s critical services for over 55,000 sight‑loss client users across the island.
Responsibilities
Meet, greet and direct customers in a welcoming manner with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
Answer customer queries by providing accurate information about product features, pricing and after‑sales services.
Assume managerial duties in the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth operation of opening times, staff coverage, shop accounting, cash handling and inventory management.
Maintain attractive window displays, updating them weekly in line with themes and promotional initiatives.
Keep the shop clean, tidy and professionally presented at all times.
Ensure all goods are of top quality, properly presented, merchandised, priced and rotated.
Monitor and limit merchandise pilferage from receipt to sale.
Familiarise yourself with in‑store health and safety responsibilities, including fire extinguishers, first aid and manual handling.
Assist the Store Manager or Area Manager with any difficulties experienced by volunteers and scheme workers.
Acquaint yourself with company health and safety protocols, policies and procedures.
Participate in statutory in‑house training, meetings and company events.
Perform any other reasonable duties requested by the Store Manager or Area Manager.
