Clinical Nurse Manager II: Emergency Department
The Clinical Nurse Manager II is responsible for the provision of high-quality nursing care to patients, managing all nursing and allied staff in the ward/unit, and maintaining professional standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide efficient and effective management of the ward/unit to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, utilizing resources optimally.
* Promote collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.
* Engage with key stakeholders to maintain hygiene standards for patients, staff, and visitors.
* Proactively manage quality and safety standards at local and directorate levels.
* Adhere to the Code of Professional Practice and Behaviours for Registered Nurses.
* Show leadership potential to influence and inspire others across the directorate and organization.
* Embrace change and implement evidence-based best practice where appropriate.
* Awareness of and adherence to Hospital and/or professional standards, policies, and procedures relevant to their area of practice.
* Effective communication in English, both written and spoken.
* Participate in legislative and regulatory requirements related to Health and Safety as outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 and the Hospital Safety Statement.
* Ensure own mandatory learning and training are up-to-date.
Requirements:
* Registered General Nurse with The Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible to register.
* 5 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting or relevant clinical area within the last 7 years.
* Demonstrated management experience over the last 2 years.
* Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing.
* Demonstrate IT skills, including excellent keyboard skills.
* Experience in teaching and assessing the nursing and HCA team over the last 2 years.
* Desirable: Management course and working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems, experience in auditing and KPI management.
