Job Title: Instrumentation Specialist
As an Instrumentation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of manufacturing processes by performing calibration, verification, and maintenance of measurement and test equipment. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities include:
* Performing scheduled and unscheduled calibrations, verifications, and maintenance of process laboratory, and facility equipment.
* Conducting field and bench calibrations, updating calibration records, investigating out-of-tolerance events, and supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Maintaining traceability to national and international standards, managing reference standards, coordinating third-party calibrations, and supporting the installation, commissioning, and validation of new instruments and process equipment.
Qualifications include a higher certificate, national diploma, or equivalent in instrumentation, mechatronics engineering, or a related field, along with 7+ years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, or metrology. Preference is given to candidates with experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environments. A strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and traceability to national/international standards is required. Familiarity with calibration management systems (CMS), CMMS software, and MS Office, Excel, Word is also essential. Additional skills include GMP/Cgmp requirements, ISO 17025 concepts, controlled documentation practices, and working knowledge of process and laboratory instrumentation. Ability to perform root cause analysis for out-of-tolerance events, troubleshoot issues, and apply analytical problem-solving skills is necessary. Accurate record-keeping skills, attention to detail, and high standards for data integrity are also required. Effective communication and collaboration with QA, production, and maintenance teams are desirable. Candidates with PLC/HMI knowledge, calibration/metrology certification, electrical safe isolation training, and basic awareness of instrument commissioning validation and qualification activities are preferred.
