Role: Apprenticeship – Mechanical and Electrical/Instrumentation.

Exciting Apprenticeship Opportunities – Mechanical & Electrical/Instrumentation

We are pleased to offer excellent apprenticeship opportunities within our company in either Mechanical or Electrical/Instrumentation disciplines. This is a fantastic chance to receive high-quality training while working towards a National Craft Certificate – a qualification recognised both nationally and internationally.

We currently have vacancies for Mechanical Apprentices and Electrical/Instrumentation Apprentices.

Training will be provided through a combination of on-the-job experience and off-site learning at approved training centres.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve faults in machinery and equipment.
* Adhere to all safe working procedures, standards, practices, rules, regulations, and instructions in accordance with Boliden policies.
* Conduct on-the-job risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
* Perform 5S activities, including housekeeping and cleaning, as required.
* Compile, manage, and maintain accurate maintenance records and databases.
* Keep a detailed log of all repairs, servicing, electrical maintenance, and other relevant information related to machinery and equipment performance.
* Continuously seek and assess opportunities for improvement in areas such as EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), automation, digitalisation, technology, and energy efficiency.
* Actively participate in daily pulse meetings with the maintenance team to ensure clear communication and information sharing across relevant departments and business units.
* Consistently demonstrate Boliden’s core values and use them to drive continuous improvement.
* Carry out all responsibilities in line with applicable procedures, promoting Boliden’s values and best practices in environmental, health, safety, and quality performance.

Experience and Qualifications:

* Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
* They must have successfully completed the Leaving Certificate with a minimum of five passes in ordinary level subjects, which must include English and Maths.

Additional Info:

* This role will be 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 7:30am to 16:00pm
* There will be a degree of flexibility required as part of this role in line with operational requirements.
